Cannot Add Servers to the DAG - Exchange 2010 SP1

Hello Everyone,

i faced a problem while creating DAG to My client, the problem was that i was Unable to add Servers to the DAG i created .

everytime i try to add a server to the DAG it gives me the following error

saying " A server-side database availability group administrative operation failed, error the operatuin failed CreateCluster erros may result from incorrectly configured Static Addresses.....etc "

Simply to fix this problem you need to make sure that " Remote Registry Service " is started and running in your Mailbox Server you want to add to the DAG.

to do that ,

Click Start >> run >> type "Services.msc" >> Press Enter

right Click " Remote Registry " >> Properties >> under startup Type Choose "Automatic"

click Apply >> Click Start >> click Ok.

now if You tried to Add the Server again to the DAG it will Work, if not , you can check my Post about How to create DAG on Exhange 2010 SP1.

    Hello everyone,

in this Post , i will discus How to install Exchange 2010 , and how to update it to SP1 .
the post will contain all the steps about how to do that.

My Environment is running in one windows server 2008 R2 SP1 , Hyper-V server , all the Exchange servers will be vitalized:
    1. One Domain Controller (domain name "lab.local")
    2. One Client access \ Hub transport server "CAS\HT".
    3. One Mailbox server "MBx".
    4. One Edge Server.
First thing is Preparing your Server for the installation of Exchange server 2010 , run the following command lines for each of the Servers rolls.
A). Exchange 2010 Client Access Prerequisties

use the following command line to install the required windows features that are needed to install the CAS on windows server 2008 R2.

    Add-WindowsFeature NET-Framework,RSAT-ADDS,Web-Server,Web-Basic-Auth,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-Metabase,Web-Net-Ext,Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console,WAS-Process-Model,RSAT-Web-Server,Web-ISAPI-Ext,Web-Digest-Auth,Web-Dyn-Compression,NET-HTTP-Activation,RPC-Over-HTTP-Proxy -Restart

The "-restart" in the end of the command line will reboot the server after the installation is finished.

B). Exchange 2010 Hub Transport Server Prerequisties

    Add-WindowsFeature NET-Framework,RSAT-ADDS,Web-Server,Web-Basic-Auth,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-Metabase,Web-Net-Ext,Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console,WAS-Process-Model,RSAT-Web-Server -Restart

C). Exchange 2010 Mailbox Server Prerequisities

    Add-WindowsFeature NET-Framework,RSAT-ADDS,Web-Server,Web-Basic-Auth,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-Metabase,Web-Net-Ext,Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console,WAS-Process-Model,RSAT-Web-Server -Restart

D). Exchange 2010 Unified Messeging Server Prerequisties

    Add-WindowsFeature NET-Framework,RSAT-ADDS,Web-Server,Web-Basic-Auth,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-Metabase,Web-Net-Ext,Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console,WAS-Process-Model,RSAT-Web-Server,Desktop-Experience -Restart

E). Exchange 2010 Edge Server Prerequisties

    Add-WindowsFeature NET-Framework,RSAT-ADDS,ADLDS -Restart

in this senario we will install the CAS and the HT rolls in the same server so we can use the following command line to install the prerequisistes:

    Add-WindowsFeature NET-Framework,RSAT-ADDS,Web-Server,Web-Basic-Auth,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-Metabase,Web-Net-Ext,Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console,WAS-Process-Model,RSAT-Web-Server,Web-ISAPI-Ext,Web-Digest-Auth,Web-Dyn-Compression,NET-HTTP-Activation,RPC-Over-HTTP-Proxy -Restart

all other rolls will be a stand alone servers, so we can use the above command line for each roll.
couple of thing need to be installed on the server that will work as a CAS/ HT server
    1. Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services.
    2. 2007 office System Converter "filter Pack" download here
